5 ways to keep your home from turning into a disaster every week (and save you from cleaning for hou

Your home is where the WiFi connects automatically, where the good coffee is, and where pants are optional. It should NOT be a place that makes you feel overwhelmed and stressed because it’s such a mess. ⠀ ⠀ Here are five things that I do to keep my home feeling organized and clean (and I live with a guy so I really know what I’m talking about 😅😭) ⠀ ⠀ 1. Wipe down your kitchen and bathroom counters after each use. Every time you cook, or you see a spot of something, wipe down the surfaces. You will end up putting clutter away to get it out of your way, and you won’t be annoyed by sticky counters when you go to cook dinner. ⠀ ⠀ 2. Do every step of your laundry on the SAME DAY. No one likes coming home to a pile of unfolded laundry and then wearing wrinkly clothes. Get them folded and put away STRAIGHT AWAY. You also want to invest in a hamper, stop using that designated chair or corner in the room. ⠀ ⠀ 3. Have a spot for shoes. I find that shoes are always finding their way around the apartment and it makes the place feel cluttered and messy. I have a basket by the door and a shoe hanger in our closet. Our everyday pairs live in the basket and all the rest are put away. ⠀ ⠀ 4. Keep up on the dishes. Get into the habit of washing off your dishes and putting them in the dishwasher — don’t let the sink stack up. It smells, you get bugs, and it creates a lot more work for you later on. Then when the dishwasher is ran, unload it right away — it takes two minutes and keeps your kitchen clean. ⠀ ⠀ 5. Tidy up every night. Every night I’ll push in the chairs, pick up stuff, straighten the couch cushions, and wipe down the counters. This ensures that I wake up to a clean, fresh apartment and I can start my day off on the right foot. ⠀ ⠀ What are your tips for a clean home?
