I tend to think this way about pretty much everything. 🤔 ⠀ I feel like if my face mask is slightly burning, it’s cleansing. 🤷♀️⠀ ⠀ I like my baths scalding hot. If you’re trying to heal your muscles it needs to be either super hot or ice cold. 🛁⠀ ⠀ I even feel like if I get a massage it’s pointless unless they’re getting all the knots out — so it’s pretty painful the whole time. 😅⠀ ⠀ I also feel this way about work and careers. ⠀ ⠀ If the job’s easy then two things are probably happening: it’s time for a promotion, or it’s time to do something different. ⠀ ⠀ I honestly feel like you’re not growing unless things are a little uncomfortable. ⠀ ⠀ I have found that all the really hard things I’ve done: the super vulnerable post, the extensive project, the long days — were always more rewarding than the easy wins. ⠀ ⠀ Not saying that the consistent day-to-day isn’t important, it absolutely is, but your work should challenge you a little to keep you interested and growing. ⠀ ⠀ At least that’s how I think of it.
Anyone else have the “if it hurts, it works” mentality? ⠀
