Control Issues Pt. 2: Body

There are so many negative connotations around being in control. Making women out to be too bossy, too meticulous, and to have unrealistic expectations. But honestly, when it comes to being a future boss lady, being in control is the best thing to be.

This will be part two, out of a three part series talking about being in control and managing your own life.

First comes your mind, then comes your body. Your body is what allows your thoughts to become actions, for you to be able to conduct the tasks that will push you further to the goal. It’s so important to take care of the body that you are in because, at the end of the day, it’s all that you have.

Where there is action there is growth. Even if your actions are mistakes. Put your thoughts and plans into actions and learn along the way, because you can’t think your way to success. Apply for the job. Call people and network. Attend events. Write for your blog. DO SOMETHING.
Every move that you make starts a chain reaction that will push you further towards your goal.

I try to perform some kind of action regarding Future Boss Lady Co. every single day. Whether it be to create Instagram posts, building on my business model, or write on the blog. It’s at least something that helps keep the dream alive.

Personal marketing.

Beauty isn’t everything. You absolutely don’t need to be societies’ “standard” kind of pretty in order to be successful. However, personal appearance helps create an image. Keep in mind that as a future boss lady, you are marketing yourself and your personal brand 24/7. Do you want to represent yourself as the girl who’s late to class with her hair in a messy bun, wearing an over-sized t-shirt and baggy sweatpants? Or do you want to be the woman who’s on time, with her hair and makeup done, wearing clothing for success and who’s ready to succeed? You don’t even have to over-do everything. Just looking put-together and like you care, will go a long way. It also doesn’t hurt to develop a personal style that you can be recognized for; utilize anything to make your personal brand as recognizable as possible.

Taking care of what you have.

Your body is your #1 machine. It’s what allows you to do anything, so TAKE CARE OF IT. When you’re juggling so many different things and you’re working so hard you barely have time to eat, it’s easy to fall into bad habits. Nobody feels good after eating like crap all the time or never exercising. I’m not saying you need to be a health nut or fitness junky, but you need to take care of the body you were born with.

Giving you less time to worry about how you look and feel, and more time to focus on what matters.

There are so many things in life that are out of our control. At the very least, we can take control of ourselves and our actions. Keep thinking and acting like a boss. #FBL
