Following Your Dreams is Self Care

“I haven’t been able to work on Future Boss Lady very much this week.” ⠀ ⠀ “Well that’s probably why you’re so stressed and irritable.” ⠀ ⠀ This was a real conversation that took place between myself and my coworker, and this comment hit me like a ton of bricks. ⠀ ⠀ I never thought as Future Boss Lady to be a source of inner happiness or self care. ⠀ ⠀ I always just saw it as something I was passionate about and a way for me to incorporate my skills into my career. ⠀ ⠀ Yet, that comment made so much sense. ⠀ ⠀ When I am working on FBL, I feel so energized, I feel like my brain is just free flowing ideas, and that I’m really exercising my knowledge and skills. ⠀ ⠀ I feel intelligent, I feel excited, and I feel so at peace. ⠀ ⠀ In a way, FBL is this little world that I’ve created for myself where I can simply be, and allow myself to grow. ⠀ ⠀ I can make mistakes without being reprimanded or letting someone down. I can try different things without having to ask permission or jump through hoops. I can push my ideas into fruition without being shut down before I can even try. ⠀ ⠀ Nobody cares about how I look, how I dress, if I say the right thing, or my background. I am allowed to grow and expand and improve as much as I want. ⠀ ⠀ When I’m working on FBL I am in my happiest, healthiest, and most challenged mindset — and I LOVE THAT. ⠀ ⠀ That’s all I’ve ever wanted in a career, and that’s all I’d ever want for you in yours. The best kind of work is going to come from your heart. ⠀ ⠀ What kind of work is that for you? Answer in the comments below! #FBL
