“ I surrendered to feeling good.” - Gabby Bernstein ⠀⠀

I had one of those “moments” yesterday. The last few weeks I’ve been journaling on the limiting belief that I think I have to suffer to feel good. That I have to desperately earn every single thing I have. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I have to work months in a row, and be super burnt out and exhausted before I can have a vacation. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I have to work out really hard and be insanely sore before I can have a rest day. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I have to be perfect for the people I love for a long enough time before I can earn their attention and take up space in their lives. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I have this belief that I have to give 110% of myself before I’m allowed to earn a fraction back — because that’s humble, that’s what people like, that’s how you get people to think you’re a good person. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I obviously know how toxic and wrong this belief is, hence the weeks of journaling and digging through how and why I adopted it. It’s been nearly painful bringing up old memories and stories that feel like mini jabs in my heart. Then yesterday I opened this book called Super Attractor by Gabby Bernstein and I was floored. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

The entire first two chapters are about letting yourself feel GOOD. That you’re allowed to give yourself permission to feel good just because you do, and the better you feel the more you can attract. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

She explains that God isn’t bartering with us. That you don’t have to suffer to receive, and that the more you think you have the suffer the more suffering you’ll experience. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

She explained that this mentality is me trying to play tricks on God and trying to convince Him that I am good, instead of just BEING good and aligning with my true power. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

Struggle has become a habit and joy is an afterthought. That feeling good is feeling God because when we feel good we remember that God is within us. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

It all made sense in an instant. ⠀⠀

⠀⠀

I finally understood what it actually meant to work from a place of peace. That giving yourself permission to feel joy without “earning” it is the crucial first step. ❤️
