Real talk question: Are you actually afraid of your most successful self?

Lemme explain.

I’ve been getting a lot of (let’s be frank here) excuses. ⠀⠀

“Now that the economy has gone to shit I’ll never be able to go after my dreams.” ⠀⠀

“I need to be financially responsible and just stay put right now.” ⠀⠀

“ I was on such a great workout regiment and now it’s all gone to waste!” ⠀⠀

I truly don’t mean to be insensitive, but I can’t stand to hear it any more!!! There is so much fear all around us right now, and so many people festering it, excusing it, offering it a drink and allowing it to stay awhile. ⠀⠀

• You are afraid of diving too deep into your wildest dreams in fear of not achieving them. ⠀⠀

• You are afraid of losing the weight in fear of gaining it all back. ⠀⠀

• You are afraid of finding success in a crisis and making everyone else hate and resent you. ⠀⠀

• You are afraid of putting yourself out there in fear of looking like a big fat fool⠀⠀

...and honestly, I get it. ⠀⠀

Maybe this isn’t what you wanna hear but it TRULY is scary. It’s terrifying. There are so many unknowns and “what ifs”. ⠀⠀

Showing up as a new *YOU* isn’t that easy. I remember a 5th GRADER teasing me about staring up my own business page. Asking me why I was doing that as if it was the lamest thing she had ever heard. ⠀⠀

I remember my friends came to me with more spelling errors and corrections on my work than actual support. ⠀⠀

My posts and writing felt silly, meaningless, falling on deaf ears — then something amazing happened. ⠀⠀

After taking a deep look into my fears (feeling like a fraud, people thinking I’m dumb, a spelling error) I sat at my kitchen table and put my ideas to paper. Wrote, designed, edited, and published an entire book on my 8-year-old laptop. ⠀⠀

Regardless of the approval of my friends and family, or publishers, my most successful self wants to make a difference through books. She is so happy using her genius zone to make an impact. ⠀⠀

I know that your most successful self is standing on the other side of your fear and excuses. ⠀⠀

To squash that fear and start becoming the woman you were truly meant to be! 💪
